How to Scan QR Codes: Camera, Image, and Safety
Many smartphones can recognize QR codes directly in the camera app. Before opening the result, you should check the displayed destination; QRWerk explains scanning but isn't itself a built-in scanner.
Scanning With the Camera
Open the camera, frame the pattern fully and steadily, and wait until the device shows a recognized result. Focus, distance, and even lighting all help.
From a Saved Image
Some camera or photo apps can recognize QR codes from a saved image. If this feature is missing, a second device or a dedicated app is needed.
QR Code on the Same Smartphone
Open the image in the photo app or display it on another screen. A device can't always capture its own display with its camera at the same time.
Check the Destination Before Opening
Compare the domain, spelling, and expected context. A QR code can lead to a foreign or manipulated destination; scanning itself doesn't prove that the address is trustworthy.
