QR Code Privacy: What Happens in the Browser
In the audited version of QRWerk, QR payloads and logo files are processed in the browser. Browser network and storage checks did not find the entered sensitive values in outgoing requests or persistent storage.
What Data You Enter
Depending on the type, you can enter a URL, Wi-Fi password, contact details, phone numbers, messages, coordinates, and event data. A logo can be selected as a local image file for preview.
What's Processed Locally
The encoder, QR calculation, preview, and export all run inside the browser app. The generator doesn't need an account or an upload endpoint for these functions.
What the Check Showed
The browser tests monitor outgoing requests while entering sensitive sample values and a logo. The tested values weren't found in these requests. This is a technical check of the version, not an absolute legal or security guarantee.
Limitations of This Statement
When you open a linked page from an encoded link, that destination's own privacy terms apply. Hosting providers may also keep technical access logs. QRWerk is not a legal certification seal and doesn't claim full GDPR compliance.
